Card Access Control
The right people, through the right doors, at the right times.
Mechanical keys get copied, loaned, and lost — and re-keying a building is expensive. Electronic access control gives you schedules, audit trails, and the ability to shut off a lost credential in seconds.
Card Access Control in Sacramento
We install complete card access systems: readers, door controllers, electrified locking hardware, request-to-exit devices, and door position monitoring — wired back to on-premise panels or managed from the cloud. One door or two hundred, a single suite or a multi-site portfolio administered from one dashboard.
Access control lives at the intersection of security, door hardware, and life-safety code. We coordinate electrified strikes, maglocks, and panic hardware with your doors and frames, interface fail-safe locking with the fire alarm where required, and keep every opening compliant with California egress requirements. That coordination is exactly where inexperienced installers get buildings red-tagged — and exactly what we handle every day.
Access systems & hardware we install
Card, fob & mobile credentials
Proximity and encrypted smart cards, key fobs, PIN keypads, and smartphone credentials (NFC/Bluetooth) — mix and match per user and per door.
Door controllers & panels
On-premise and cloud-connected controllers using open standards like OSDP, so you're never locked into a dead-end proprietary system.
Electrified door hardware
Electric strikes, maglocks, electrified levers and exit devices, and automatic operators — specified to each door, frame, and fire rating.
Cloud-managed access
Browser-based administration with instant credential changes, remote unlock, and multi-site management without a server closet.
Video intercom & visitor entry
See and speak with visitors at lobbies, gates, and delivery doors before releasing the door — from a desk console or a phone.
Elevator, gate & turnstile control
Floor-by-floor elevator access, vehicle gates with readers or LPR, and pedestrian turnstiles for higher-security lobbies.
Lockdown & emergency functions
One-touch lockdown for schools and public counters, duress-triggered locking, and fire-alarm-interfaced fail-safe egress.
Audit trails & reporting
Who went where, when — searchable event history, scheduled reports, and door-held-open and forced-door alarms.
The Scarlett Standard
What 'done right' means here
Egress-code compliant
Every opening is designed around California Building Code and fire-marshal egress requirements — free egress always, fail-safe where required.
Open-platform hardware
OSDP readers and non-proprietary controllers protect your investment and keep future expansion competitive.
Coordinated with your doors
We work with your door, frame, and hardware conditions — including coordination with locksmiths and door vendors on remodels.
Good Questions
Access Control FAQs
Can employees use their phones instead of cards?
Yes. Modern readers support mobile credentials over NFC or Bluetooth alongside traditional cards and fobs, so you can roll out phone-based access gradually or all at once.
What happens to the doors if power fails?
It depends on the hardware, and it's a life-safety decision made during design. Fail-secure hardware stays locked from outside while always allowing free egress; fail-safe hardware (like maglocks) unlocks on power loss or fire alarm, per code. We spec each opening accordingly and provide battery backup for continued operation.
Can access control tie into our cameras and alarm?
Yes — that's the ideal setup. Door events can bookmark video, after-hours access can arm or disarm intrusion partitions, and alarms can pull up the associated camera automatically.
